The rain came at last on Friday 1st September and on Saturday 2nd anglers began meeting fish.  Most fish reported from early September were small 3 to 4 lbs and some slightly coloured. Fresher and slightly better fish are now being met.

One very lucky angler was Mike Browne from Tralee who on his first visit to the Laune as a Club Member caught a beautiful 15lb fish on the fly off Johnson's high bank, Derek Dennehy was on hand to net the fish.

See the first photos of the 2006 season its a pity its so late in the year but anglers are advised to make the best of the good water, but it still takes time to meet up with a fish.
