River Safety

Compulsory Wearing of Buoyancy Aids/ Life Jackets.

The Committee has decided that in the interests of Safety that it will be compulsory for juvenile members under the age of sixteen to wear a Buoyancy Aid when on the river bank from 2008 onwards.  The Committee have also decided that juveniles will have to have reached the age of seven before they can be considered for membership of the Association.

Lifebuoy Rings

The Committee has purchased 20 Lifebuoy Rings and holders with the help of sponsorship from one of our members, Diarmuid Devereux.  The Committee and membership are most grateful to Diarmuid for his generous gesture. It is the Committees sincere wish that they are never required but it is up to the membership to make sure that they are not vandalised and that they are in good order when an emergency occurs.
